September 16th, 2006 Spirit of Norfolk Dinner Cruise Norfolk, VA
For our 20th Anniversary we went on a dinner cruise (my surprise to Scott). We got a small buffet dinner, 1/2 dozen roses, band/singing/dancing, 2 glasses/bottle of champagne & a fantastic fireworks show. It lasted 3 hours. A nice cruise, though service wasn't great. Some people were served way early & others had to wait half hour or more from the salad to the buffet. They didn't announce when the buffet was ready, so people sat there wanting to go up, but afraid to! We got desert, but no forks. Another 20 minute wait. Then, the champagne, which was supposed to be given to us at the beginning didn't come to our table till we were getting ready to leave! So no champagne to celebrate before or after dinner! Ticket price: $65. Tickets from $26 per person for a noon cruise to $65 per person for a dinner cruise. Special cruises a little more. Ticket price doesn't include beverages or gratuities, so you end up spending quite a bit more. Credit cards accepted; the only souvenir is a photo op (which of course costs more) at the beginning of the cruise. You pick up the photos at the end of the cruise. We saw what they looked like and opted out of it.
