Celebration In Lights Newport News, VA

This is an annual event (they usually add one or two displays a year to keep it interesting).  There are several in the area, but this is the only one we went to this year. I think we may try to do another soon. There are also a number of homes in the area that get together to put on a display.  There's one in Hampton, where a block is backed up, making it impossible for the residents to get in or out of their driveways, but you known, they did it to themselves! We went with Jeremy this day and stopped for Hot Chocolate on the way back.  How Christmas-like!  There are no food or drinks in the area; you drive through it; it takes about 10-15 minutes as it's only 2 miles. The photos are not that good because digital cameras don't work well at night in a moving car (sorry).  There were hundreds of lighting displays...this is a random sampling.  Cost $8 per carload, with all the proceeds used for new displays and upkeep.  Check for days and hours of operation and prices changes, as well as directions, by clicking the official site.
