Beach is the closest beach to our home. It's about 5-10 minutes away
max and only takes two streets to get there; it's situated on the Chesapeake
Bay. Hurricane Isabelle ruined the beach but millions have been spent to
repair it. There is no longer an amusement park or other things like that
there, but it's a fairly clean beach and a good place to fish. In the
summer, they have concerts and also show movies there and from the beach, you
get a very close fireworks view on the 4th of July because they shoot off the
fireworks from Fort Monroe. There are sheltered picnic tables, restrooms and a
fishing pier. Rentals available nearby include charter fishing and personal
watercraft. Biking, Run/Walk Trails, Fishing, Swim, Windsurfing, Waterskiing,
Boating, Kayaking, Canoeing rentals available nearby. We have been there a
couple times, but these photos were taken the first time we went. Left to right: 1) Grandpa Harry near Pier 2) Kids playing in the water 3) Scott with Fishing pier in background 4) Lighthouse; not real; just a little statue kids can go inside.
