Mr. Best starred in the hit show "Dukes of Hazzard" as Roscoe P Coltrane, but also was in over 600 shows including Twilight Zone, Andy Griffith Show, Wagon Train, Rawhide, Gunsmoke, Perry Mason, The Fugitive and a wide array of others. He has 83 film credits including "The Caine Mutiny", and he worked with celebs like Humphrey Bogart, Jimmy Stewart, Audie Murphy, Rock Hudson, Anthony Quinn. A friend of Burt Reynolds, he wrote, helped direct some Reynolds films. He was in "Gator" ,co-wrote and costarred in Hooper and was co-producer and writer on "The End". He directed and starred in "Goodbye Charlie" with Lucy Arnez and starred in "Bus Stop" with Sally Field and Robert Ulrich.
